A Taste
Just a quick look at the production formula…enjoy! I meant to post this vid the day after America West lost my bags. Instead, I ended up having to give you an update from Miami. So here it is weeks later:
Much more to come…hit me with questions and suggestions for the next “Production Formula” vid.

While watching this daily video I saw a formula that you written out.
A2 + B2 - C2/D = HIT
I’m a little slow but…..I was wondering if you made up that formula for laughs or does all that actually stand for something?? hahaha. (REALLY DUMB QUESTION) Well, whatever it is.. you’re a great producer!
I love the daily blogs– you really reach out to your audience.

When you give yourself to others it is a genuine gift. Sharing your insight based on your experience gives hope/faith to all of those dreams out there. You are wonderful!

Ok, I agree with you Ryan. You can’t be giving too many secrets away on your production skills. It will cause too many upcoming producers to imitate your style and possibly try to call it their own. When I saw the how-to video on your production, I thought you were a little crazy for providing this information. I mean its good to share, but that’s your own unique style that you should keep to yourself. I love your music. Keep up the good work!I am looking forward to NextSelection Lifestyle Group blowing up this year!

My bad - I meant why are you waiting until late THIS year? The 4 tracks on ryanleslie.com are HOT. My favorite is “Just Right.”

It’s a shame this music isn’t playing on the radio!! New Yorkers, you can e-mail Power 105 at power1051fm@clearchannel.com and Hot 97 at hot97@hot97.com to request that they put this music on the air. It’s a quick and easy way to make our voices heard. I’m so tired of heaing the same ole same ole on the radio.
Ryan, you’re amazing.

Loved how u broke down the elements and explained that making a beat does NOT make you a producer!! Big ups for that

Ryan i have contacted Shiv Pandya several times to find out how i can send some tracks your way and how i could possibly get an unpaid internship with you and Nextselection as a producer in development . I feel as thought my talents are god given and i am always looking to improve my craft by working around ppl with great passion and dedication to music. I currently go to philly several times a month to learn and study Chad West and his production methods and try to implement things ive learned from him and many others into my style to create a new flavor. It would be an honor to be able to be an apprentice of you and your company, the style of music you create is right up my alley. You can contact me at the email that i’ve provided : World_Wide_Hustle@tmail.com.
I am 23 and reside in the washington dc area
Thanks for your time

hi ryan
this song is so amazing the beat is very hot when is the release from this track???
Monday, July 10th, 2006 at 10:01 pm
I notice you dont use a drum machine like an akai or an roland. Is you making the beat on the keyboard?
Tuesday, July 11th, 2006 at 1:29 am
OK..THAT WAS COOL. I’M AN ASPIRING PRODUCER MYSELF, AND I AM STILL ADAPTING MYSELF TO USING PRODUCTION PROGRAMS SUCH AS FL STUDIO AND REASON, BUT I’M ALSO ABOUT TO PURCHASE A YAMAHA MOTIF ES6 AND A ROLAND MC808.
SO I AGREE WITH THE PERSON WHO POSTED THE QUESTION BEFORE ME. DO YOU USE GROOVEBOXES/DRUM MACHINES, OR JUST THE KEYBOARD YOU WERE JUST PLAYING ON? AND BY THE WAY, WHAT TYPE OF KEYBOARD IS THAT?
