Have a Harp
Those who pay close attention noticed that there are two differences between version of “Just One Nite” on Cassie’s myspace and the one on the album…The first is that we re-did the song with a live harp played by Brandee Younger. The second is a new rap verse verse from me:
I was very excited to see this come together. The live harp added such a unique vibe to the song, and it makes me truly proud to know that NextSelection has one of the only pop/r&b albums that makes use of a harp. Continue to enjoy the lifestyle, and spread the movement. I appreciate you all…

This is definately good stuff. Sometimes, its best to bring some live instruments into the beat. As for your verse, its pretty hot - Im not going to lie about that. As for the haters, they can hate with denial and such, but you still go top with your productions.

See that’s the difference between you and them. Some would use a harp sound on a keyboard. Which is still cool cause with my no budget having self, that’s probably what I’d need to do but you guys can definately make it happen live and why wouldn’t you it Next Selection.

The harp is real hot, not many producers bring in that kind of instrument or even real intruments at all. However there’s one small thing that annoys me a bit:
You changed the notes in the beginning of the harp section, and I think the one on the original version sounded better.
Why did you change it…?
You killed it on the verse though.

I believe darkchild used a harp a number or times, especially on the earlier brandy records. Not entirely sure whether it was ever live tho.
I used a harp on an r&b record i did for Jin and R&B artist Israel.

RYAN, I just wanted to say that you are PURE genius. Words can’t describe your music ability and ear for music. I’m one that loves the instruments and how a record is put together more so than the words. People always get on me for not listening to the words cause the music just drowns it out to me. I LOVE what you do…you never cease to amaze me and I truly can’t believe how you really flipped the harp like that. The HARP though??? Truly amazing…keep it up!
