Radio Ready
FIRST THINGS FIRST: Happy Birthday to my beautiful, supportive, intelligent sister, Joy Leslie!!
NOW FOR TODAY’S UPDATE: Often as recording artists we feel that we’ve created something that’s ready to be broadcast to the world. “Just Right” is one of those joints for me - using a hip-hop drum loop and some analogue sounds coupled with a laid-back delivery of a simple concept. Though Universal records opted not to go with it as a single, it turned out to be a favorite among DJs, many of whom consider this one of my signature songs. This clip from one of my 3 radio interviews in Paris today illustrates:
Some experts estimate that it costs over $150,000 USD in radio promotion to break a single in the United States - not including the costs associated with shooting a video and various other marketing. My goal as a producer has always been to make records for the DJs that have an appreciation for my musical style. That way, I can be assured the song will get a shot at being played for the audiences of those DJs, both in the states and around the world at clubs and on the radio - strictly based on the quality of the record and not the amount of money spent on promoting it. I appreciate all those that continue to support my artistry and plan on meeting you all and personally shaking your hands one day.

“Just Right” is a record i’ve personally been spinning for nearly 2 years and i can’t believe its never been officially serviced. It’s one of those records that whenever i play it, people always come up to me and ask me what it is. Honestly, If you ask me, Universal are complete idiots! I get so many garbage promos from them its ridiculous!
All good Ryan,..keep doing your thing…real respect real…peace.-DJ Neil Nice (NYC)

Ryan - Looked Like You Had Fun In Paris, Do you Have a Clip of Your Gig There??
“Just Right” Came out as a Single here in the UK (I brought it twice) - Ryan I want you to sign one of them for me one day.
Just Right is a Big tune - and goes down well if you play it in the Car, a Bar or a Club, Everytime I drop it, Play Ask About It.
Love IT!!!!

I know you’ve been working hard, so spend some time enjoying yourself in Paris. It’s a beautiful city, SO take advantage of it!
“Just Right” has been one of my favorite songs, and I make sure it’s on regular rotations here at the clubs when I have a gig or even hosting an event here. It’s always been in my set, and I’m surprised how it doesn’t get much radio play. It’s crazy how word of mouth type marketing isn’t much effective these days with music, and how it COSTS soooo much to put a great song in order to get the rest of the people in the world to enjoy it. Sometimes, I feel this business can be really unfair, but knowing Ryan Leslie - I don’t doubt his abilities, and I know he’s going to change this. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

See this is the kind of music we need out now, the production is unique, it sounds different, best of all the songs just make you want to move, seriously, but i guess its little steps at a time, hope you break out huuge soon in the states..peacee
p.s ….that song “Lay you down” has been on my playlist for 4 months straight, hard to imagine because i need new songs every other day…peeeaace

What you said in your write up is what I like about your music and its eveident. You are making music creatively and its nott about the money. I love that right there…When you love what your doing and you find some people that appreciate your talent there is no price on that. You created a buzz not through labels but through DJs, The Club, Internet, etc….
Thats whats up… Don’t change… Oh and I will let you know where I will be when its time to shake hands….lol because we will one day
