Man you are some kind of musical genious. Im not just saying that either. I write music and sing but im much too shy to ever perfom but i know what it takes. Hundreds of songs float through my head but i throw them away cuz there just not good enough but you its like five minutes and youve got an automatic banger. Much too many kids are dropping out of school or not reaching their full potential as all they see is “the music.”
Not everyone has the talents of Dre or R.Les and need to make sure that if things flop (which is more than likely with the majority of these guys) they can go and get a decent job and pay the rent/bills.
You can be the hottest thing out there, but without being educated and able to handle yourself professionally ou may as well flip them burgers is Micky D’s

Becca you need to chill out. If you actually read what Kalibreo wrote, you would see he was being sarcatic and giving Ryan props. Maybe RLes is contributing to juvenile deliquency cause you obviously didnt learn reading comprehension in school. Ryan has haters but some of you are riding him too hard. Do I think Ryan is talented? Sure do, thats why I come hear to check his production videos. I learn alot from the little he shows. I’m kind of upset at all the ppl on here saying things like “u make this look so easy” and saying how too many kids think that they can do wat u do. Sure, everybody doesnt have talents in music and thats fine but i think the point of these vids is so that small time and up&coming recording artists/producers like myself can see that u can only get better w/ HARD WORK and that what we’re trying to do isnt just a dream..we can make it a reality.
Ppl, this shit isnt easy..sometimes its hard to get the sounds u hear in ur head out on ur keyboard or beat machine. and other times it just flows out of u like a kool breeze and u just feel unstoppable. and then the words like come out of u so easy its crazy!..but it all takes hard work and thats y R.Les is who he is and the producer he is…cuidate

I don’t doubt that Ryan Leslie can sing, he does have a nice voice. However, I think what makes it difficult for anyone to pay him any attention is the simple fact that people like John Legend exist. When you have someone who sings songs with such passion that it moves you on every performance, you just can’t compare. I recall hearing “Ordinary People” performed live with just the piano and I was so moved– it was like the very first time I heard the song over the radio a year or two prior. He is a true talent. Music should be more than just making simple synth pop piano beats and singing about “girls” “love” “baby” lyrics. That may sell some records now, but will most certainly not solidify you in the future as anything legit.

Nice Setup! Alesis Micron, Triton, Digi 002, Alesis Andromeda A6 (glad you left the A6 warm up time out of the video.. oh the tuning too!), TLM 103. That controller, is it one of the new novation boards? The X series or something like that? FRESH!! Pro Tools 6.7 or 6.9, the board on the upper left of your keyboard rack looks like a plain old controller. M-Audio Keystation61 ES?That must be for nostalgic purposes? It’s hard to believe those vocals go thru only the focusrites in the 002, sounds great! Nice big KRK V8s have a nice natural verb in that room/loft. I’d love to see any outboard gear you have. Very nice setup!! Great song! I’m vibing.
