The Reachback, Part 4
I was honored when Ed Woods from Casablanca Records asked me to join him at Park East High School’s Career Day today, and I was able to do the very first LIVE! episode of the Ryan Leslie Reachback. Felt good to know that my page on MySpace has introduced me to some of the students at Park East, who recognized me and listened intently.
It’s my hope that these vids and our network of blogs here on NS4Life.com give a clear picture to all of the aspiring artists, producers, and entrepreneurs who visit: the best is always demanded of you when you follow your heart.

It is great to see someone out there,who knows how this buisness works give some tips to the young people and give them the opertunity to dream at least .

its really wonderful to see when artists like yourself can give back to the community. And I’m talking about words of wisdom. These youngsters out here need that. When they look up to an artist so much, it is such a good feeling to have that artist come and talk to them. To give them good words to go by. You are an inspriration to so many babe. Continue to do what you do. Keep giving back to the community. It makes a difference:)

I would like to thank you as a parent of two young aspiring artists? You are an inspiration for many young people that want to be in the BIZ. My daughter goes to your myspace site on a daily basis. She is very dedicated to her craft. The same words that you told the students in the career day are words that I stress to my kids as a parent. Another inspiring reachback for an songwriting artist such as myself. Now Ryan all you have to do is reachback to CT one more time where I will be waiting for u…U may say I already reached there but thats why you call it the REACH…..BACK!!!! I’ll be waiting patiently with my Dedication( to the craft…yep), Discipline(working on that need to hit the gym hard), Desire (oh yeah), and Drive( absolutely).. *wink*

For real Ryan, you’re such a breath of fresh air to the industry, not only music-wise, but also most importantly as a PERSON. I’ve been followin’ you for some years now, you’ve come a long way, man…and it’s not everyday that you come across someone from this fickle, cut-throat business, who is so grounded and appreciative of the people that have helped him get where he is today.
On that note, from artist to artist, i’d just like to give you MAD PROPS for everything you do and are…and i’d love to say we need more people like you out here, but then again that wouldn’t make you so special

mr rl, i want to say thanks for the reachbacks they really do inspire me / i am a singer and part time songwriter i really want to sing gospel thats where my roots and heart are and i enjoy it but i don’t know how to get into that genre of music. i have family in a vp postion at the number one record label in the country but i really don’t want to ask for a hand out what do you think i should do. thanks
